Description

The ball ramp mechanism is used in the clutch release system to provide smooth actuation of the clutch cable or hydraulic system. It helps convert the pulling force from the clutch cable or hydraulic actuator into a pushing motion that disengages the clutch plates.

Design: Typically includes a ramp plate, ball bearings, and possibly a retaining clip.

Compatibility:
Found in Harley-Davidson Big Twin models from 1984 and later, especially those using a five-speed transmission with a mechanical clutch release system.
Used in primary drive systems, particularly models with an evolution (Evo) or early Twin Cam engine setup.
